Installing front speakers on a car with manual windows

I've looked at the DIY about installing front speakers cept that DIY was for models that had power windows...problem is i don't have power windows and when i went to try it i got stuck where the window crank goes through the door panel
anybody know how to get past this problem?
any help would be much appreciated
thanks

There should be a retainer clip shaped similar to a U or an Ohm symbol behind the crank handle on the shaft. If you push in on the panel around the crank you should be able to see it. Find a way to grab the clip and remove it from the shaft and the crank handle will slide right off.

there's a little "C" clip in between the crank and the plastic spacer on the door, it's not fun to get off, they have tools for it at napa, but it pushes through...lemme see if i can find a pic for ya

What I did since I didn't have the pick or pliers was the sock method when I first did my doors with speakers. Get a sock that you don't need because you won't be wearing it ever again. Then get the sock under the ring from underneath and then just see-saw it back and forth until you feel it catch. When it pops out be sure you are not near any drains or near any place where it will get lost easily. When your not rich and don't have the tools you have to learn to improvise.

you clip it on the crank and then push the crank on, it's easy to put back on

He's right but if you need any more help, feel free to ask. Did your panel secure all the way down?
