Upgraded to JL 12w6v2
i dunno what to do???...
this is what i got right now,
JL 12w3v1
Precision Power PCX-1250
1x250watts @4ohm
1x500watts @2ohm
i came across a very good deal for a JL 12w6v2....
i'm getting sick of the single 12w3, it's just not enough, the SQ isn't quite there and the SPL isn't enough either.... so i KNOW that i will eventually get something better....
sooo, how do you guys think it'll sound with the Precision Power amp??
i might be able to get the guy to lemme try it out in my car.

i sthe sub a dual or single voice coil? What are you running now. If you match up your ampa nd sub and tune it properly it may sould great. if the w6v2 is a dual 4 ohm then you will run at 2 ohns and run 500 watts. if you have a single dual coil now running at 250 watts then you may not get teh sound that you want. If the ohmages are the same i don;t think the 2 subs will sound all that much different. Thats just my .02 though. Goodluck post again if you ahve any more questions.

the 12w6v2 is a dual 4ohm sub...
i was definitely going to wire it in a 2ohm state.... give that baby 500watts of clean power...
the 12w3 i'm using now is also a dual 4ohm.... i'm giving it 250watts@4ohms.

Umm its impossible to run yoru dual 4 ohm sub at 4 ohms unless you are only running one voic coil. Run it at 2 ohms. I think the subs will sound very similar. try it out but i don;t think its worth it.

so i ended up getting th 12w6v2...
omg... what a great investment... SQ is amazing even at high volume....
it kinda makes me want to cry.... haha....
i've finally unleashed the TRUE potential of my PCX-1250....
the PCX-1250 is the Beauty and the 12w6v2 is the Beast... or the other way around.

I also upgraded my 12w3v2 to a 12w6v2v accidentaly, thought that my w3 was blown out, but it turned out to be my amplifier. I ended up buying a slightly powerful alpine amplifier that pushes about 400W RMS compared to my previous amplifier that pushed 350W RMS and I found a big difference in the quality, especially at high levels.

I've had my 12w6v2 for about a month as well and I love the quality of the bass. I'm powering mine with the JL 500/1.
However, I want two 10w6v2's. So if anyone's interested in a one month old 12w6v2, I could give you a good deal.
