Is there a difference from a rockford 1 farad and the cheaper ones like boss, pyramid, lanzar, phoenix digital caps? Am i paying for more of the name than anything else?

Nope All Name. Infact Lightning Audio Comes From The Same Factory As Rockford Fosgate. Not Saying The Amps Are Equal But The Caps And Amp Kits Are Identical.

want a good amp kit, for less than half the price of rockford, go to Walmart, but that is the only audio thing i would suggest buying there. I forgot the brand.

it comes with a fuse that would let your car catch on fire b4 it blows and it looks like 4 awg until u strip it and realize its more like 6awg no the walmart kit isnt a good 4 awg kit its crap but its the cheapest and best 8awg kit ever!

red wire = no named brand 4awg power wire
silver = stingers hpm 4awg power wire





wire is wire, but more strands = more current? those cheap amp kits may work, but if your going for serious equipment/installs, of course you would want the wire with more strands. in this case, no named brand wires offer less than brand named wires such as rockford, stinger, lightning audio, etc.

To answer the question which was about Caps, yeah, there is a difference. Better companies are most likely using higher quality components. OF course some of what you pay for is the name, but in most cases, they've developed that name for a reason - quality. That being said, is it worth the extra money?? That's a different question, I'd tend to think not, considering most of time you aren't looking to get many many years of service out of a cap and if it stops your lights from dimming, you'll be happy. Happier if you paid half the price.

for some reason i thought i had a lightning audio cap in my old car which is a rockford fosgate cap. I looked today and it was a legacy POS. It may be cheap but it helped a crap load with the dimming with teh hard notes.
