i just replaced them and took a sharp piece of metal to them to end their terrible reign of crappy sound reproduction.

turn on the bass on the deck, leave your "loud" set on mid or low, then boom away... (distortion kills your speakers)

your stockers are probably already out, if you purposely tried to blow them. check and see if their are stress marks/cracks.. if so, then their pretty much gone.

I know on a coupe it sucks because the trunk springs give you little space for aftermarket ones. That pushed me towards stereo staging intstead of surround sound.
