Alpine Type R Vs. Fosgate 10" HX2
Alpine Type R Vs. Fosgate 10" HX2
I currently have a Fosgate 1001BD pushing 2 10" HX2. I was thinking of changing my woofers.
Do you think the Alpine Type R 12's will be better?

HX2 is a better overall sub for loudness type r is better sound quality, but a bd1001 will rape two type r 12's. I have a similar setup, with an older bd1501 and an older power HX2 12. Now that is a setup that pounds, pretty good sq when turned down too

Dont know too much about Orion because I have never worked with that company. But if you've already got the Fosgate subs, why go spend more money when you have subs that already work. Just a thought.
Alittle of both. I want it to sound good and have boom. Maybe I should just stick with what I have. I have always heard how great the Orion 225 was, Just thought I would try something different.
The HCCA is meant for a ported/ vented box. teh box will most likely be the same size or bigger than your 2 sub box. When i interned at a local car audio shop we did an install with the first gen HCCA. The truck had q series and an mmats amp. most retardedly loud thing i ever heard in my life. Like everyone said the rockford woudl be more for spl and teh alpine sq. its up to you. IMO they are so similar that its not worth switching. Look into eclipse aluminums or the titanium if you wants some seriosul boom or the mmats jugernaught.
