viper 791v install
Well i have a few ?'s about this alarm. I went to best buy and i was told that in order to make this alarm work with my 2004 civic ex 2dr. that i need the bypass/transponder and that i will need to go to honda to have at least one new key burned/made for 100-150$. So I really would just like to know what it takes to get this alarm working!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just use the keyless. I have the top end Clifford on my car (remote start, security) and my car is 5speed. Does that one have remote start or is it just a security system? If its a stick you wont be able to get it installed at BB unless they came up with some sort of liability agreement. I remember that when I used to work there (8 months ago) one of the installers said that they might come up with something like this.

Well this alarm...sorry it is the 791xv. I have a 5spd. I don't care about the remote start but they told me i need to start with a completely different key and that i couldn't use my vallet key. I'm gonna have to see some more replies on this cuz i'm gonna install it myself most likely, but i don't wanna start till i know everything i need. But Thanks a lot for the replies so far!!!! It really helps!!!!!!!!!!!

i have it installed, i used my valet, and i got a 5 spd, and remote start. the valet key will work... and for the remote start all you got to do is rewire the clutch switch so that the clutch doesnt have to be down to start.
first, off you can use your valet key, second off, I didnt know there was a keyless bypasss system, if there is, you definately should get the keyless one. I took my bypass out with valet key cuz I got sick of risking my cars life over a remote start, so now all my alarm is, is remote start. PLus dont get killswitch cuz it dangerous, if alarm ever goes bad your stuck/.
P.s. if you run into a smart thief, he will know you have the key in there and take your whole car. Also if you have a manual, you dont need to press the clutch to start the car which is bad.

I'm trying to put this all together...if i follow the dei instructions i got for our cars that is a DIY from here....i should be fine to wire everything as long as i go buy the 50$ by-pass module from my local dealer....becasue i believe when you put your key in that's almost the last thing that you have to do....also why do you use the vallet key? Thanks for all the help!!!!

blah blah blah blah...I know I knnow, you're all saying you'll never put your car in gear..blah blah blah blah...don't come crying to momma when you put your car through the garage door (or someone else's car).
Now having said all that, I installed 2 pinswitches to 3 relays to ensure my DEI remote start doesn't start while in gear (uh...hyporcite???)

I know i'm starting to sound really stupid but, if i have all the viper parts in the box...i have the DIY from 7thgen......i should be able to install this with no bypass?right?...as long as i don't use my r/s feature?.... I know it depends on if im capable but i don't want to get in the middle of this and have to go through some B.S. of getting a key made and wasting a bunch of cash...This is for a 04 5spd too.... But THANKS ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for all the responses everyone!!!!!
