I have a JVC unit and the mount "sits" wedged into the cup holder in my 01 Ex. Not the best solution as it is prone to hard bumps, but for the most part it's stable. I'll post pics tomorrow.

ah you got one of them big ol' sirius EKG machine-sized units. ive seen people put them right on top of the dash board, too big to fit anywhere else. sucks that you dont have a small sleek xm unit lol. j/k, what sirius unit you have btw?

I saw one mounted on a stand on top of the dash. Not sure where the stand came from but it could prolly be mounted in front of or behind the shifter

how big is it?

you could put it right beside the cigarete lighter and run the wire thru the back of that piece if its small enough to put there

one thing that has baffled me is the large form factor of the Sirius receivers. I don't know why they aren't making small ones like XM.

if yours is like mine - the space management for extras is not laid out well. Aside from the suspension redesign of the 7th gen, that's my only gripe about the 01 coupe. I had to get creative mounting the iPod and even more so trying to fit the aftermarket Sirius tuner.

There sure arent the best spots to mount things in this car. Mounting my profec-b and ICU were hard enough. I am gonna have to mount more stuff in the next couple months. I hate trying to find a spot. I used the space behind the cupholder for my profec-b, and used velcro where the cig lighter used to be. The power is only being used for the profec, no cig lighter anymore. I took that all out, and mounted the ICU right there. It looks good, IMO. Your sirius thing should mount around there pretty nicely, no cups hit my units either, that was my biggest worry.

Because XM has their technology inhouse and pays less for it (pay less = more gooder), and Sirius contracts theirs out. The only project that I know of that XM has sent out is the MyFi - first Delphi and all the others coming out this year. Business analysts for satellite radio say Sirius is averaging 2 years' lag behind XM as far as technology of user products. It's why the MyFi can record live and the Sirius portable unit can download and play later - otherwise known as reinvention of the tape recorder. O&A references aside, that's your answer: methods by which the respective units are created.

i mounted my myfi like this. I bought a bracket for $.70 at home depo and did a little customization but it was kinda hard to reach so i took it off and bought this mounting hardware for $20 that uses the cup holder which was a lot closer and easier.....
