EX Tweeters on LX
Got a question here. Anyone tried to install Factory EX Tweeters on an LX?
Both coupes.
I got a pair of factory Ex tweets and figured that it was probably just Plug N Play. Guess not.
No wire harness/plug in the LX door.
Do I need to manually go in a splice cables? If so, do I connect right off of the door speaker cable?

You won't be able to add tweeters to a factory system if your car came with coaxials in the first place. YOu would need a xover that woudl accomodate the tweeters to send the right freqs to it. If you splice in your coaxials wires you are going to send a full-range signal to your tweeter and fry it.

Then, can i get a Xover from an EX and install it? I have an Alpine HU with all stock speakers.

I think Honda uses the headunit to cross em' IN that case, You would have to get a HU from a Civic w/ stock tweeters and you'd be better off buying a new HU After market. But the point I am making is, if your car did not come with tweeters, you wouldn't benefit at all by adding them. Tweeters in component speakers are only there because the Larger woofers play the lower frequencies and the tweets play the higher. IF you do not have stock tweeters it is because you have coaxial speakers designed to play both high and low and if you add a second source of high frequencies it'll sound like ****.

(...at least not in my 02 coupe...)
You should be able to splice them into your wiring in the doors.
This begs the question, then...WHY? The stock tweeters are not very good, unless you are on a zero-dollar budget.
