just to add some more information about my system: i have a JL 12W7 and an Alpine 9835 head. transfer function is also known as cabin gain. i don't have the resources to measure the transfer function for my car here at school. also i'm tuning it with the seats up if that helps. thanks again in advance.

it is an awesome set up... just perfect for good sound and not destroying your ear drums. that 9835 is possibly the best cd/mp3 player i've ever dealt with.
ajhdragon: let me know whats up with that when you get that situated. that'll help me out a lot.
i've done a few searches on the net, but not come up with anything. either no one has done it, which i highly doubt since we have the most popular cars on earth, or no one cares to post it out there.

the transfer function is for the 'Q' on my amp. there is a way to calculate it out but i don't have the voltmeter and other such things. its also called the cabin gain. at certain levels of 'Q' your car sounds better because of the shape and materials in your car. the best way to calculate it is by setting up microphones at various points in your car like the drivers seat to get the max output and SQL. pretty much boils down to how well and at what freq your car transfers the sound.

oh the "Q". lol
Unless a word that has something to do with this starts with Q I believe thats as dumb as the speed of light constant being c. unless they chose x, c is pretty much one of the worst letters for a constant.
