Installing 2 amps ...

Okay. I'm not a major n00b when it comes to car stereos. I've done plenty of installs of HUs and single amp systems. Super easy and I can do them in my sleep. Where I get a little stuck is what I need to do for a mutli-amp system.

I'm going to be installing a 2ch amp to power just a 10" sub. I've already got a 4ch amp for the fronts and rears, since the HU is preout only. I've already got distro blocks in the trunk for power and ground (4ga power and 4ga ground in to 2 8ga out for each). I'm just a little confused on what I should do to split the remote wire. Should I just cut it, splice in another piece of wire? Like, just use a barrel connector and put 2 remote lines in one side? I'm not to sure about it, so I figured I'd ask you pros.

Absolutely anything you want. Since the remote is often a much smaller gauge than the amp accepts, one easy thing to do would be to run the remote turn on from the HU to one amp's Remote input. Then, out of the same input, run another remote wire across to the other amp.

BTW, you know you'd be better off running a seperate set of RCAs for the 2 channel from the non-fading output of the HU, so you can have seperate control of your bass.

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention that I already ran the 3rd set of RCAs back in the day, to be prepared for the addition of the sub. All I've got to do is get a few feet of 8ga power and ground and plug in the amp. I was just a little confused on what'd be the best way to add in the 2nd remote wire for the sub amp.
