Live always on power tap

I am looking for a always on power source to tap into and would like to do so without having to run an extra power line, something I tap by the fuse box. Is there an easy way to do this? It does not need major power, just enough to power an auto dim mirror. Any ideas. An ESM would be really helpful.

If you are powering the mirror the best place for constant power would be at the map lights.

I pulled it out of my '01 Maxima SE-AE when they totaled it. (hit a wall doin 120) I am wanting to keep it on always otherwise it won't turn on with the car, and the annoyance of having to always turn it back on would drive me nuts. The dome light does not work because it does not have a complete circuit, it is a local ground for the circuit completion. The radio constant would be just perfect. Which wire (color/stripe) is it? Also I would like to wire the cig. lighter constant too, I have one of those nifty little "Ionic Breeze" doohikeys from sharper image that I would like to keep running.

Sorry for all the questions, I am a nissan junkie and this is my first Honda. If anyone has an ESM that I could "look" at it would be appreciated.

First off, it has two light sensors, one facing the windshield and one just under the mirror. The one facing the windshield is to use as reference, and it compares it with the other sensor. When it is dark, hence not much light coming in from windshield side it knows it can start dimming. It then adjust's the voltage going to the glass depending on how bright the light is coming in from the back. The glass is designed to darken when an electric current is applied, more current darker glass. (same stuff they use in the Maybach) Put it this way, even with a cop shining his Q-beam right into the car I can still see him inside it and moving around. I almost never have to worry about getting blinded again. (Now they just need to do the same with side mirrors)

| 12V|white |+ |ignition harness |
| IGNITION|black/yellow |+ |ignition harness |
| ACCESSORY|black/red |+ |ignition harness |
| SECOND ACCESSORY|white/red |+ |ignition harness

you can use any of that. i wouldnt use the constant 12v like everyone else said. itll prolly drain ur batt w/in a nite.

no need to make mess and run straight to batt.

I wouldn't go all crazy and take out the radio or even mess around with the ignition harness, just go to your fuse box and find a fuse that gets 12V+ with the ignition switched. Then solder a wire to the fuse and there you go. Make sure you place an inline fuse whenever you are running power wires to a power source, 15 Amp fuse should be just fine. Have fun!
