adire subwoofers
has anyone seen these before??? i watched a couple video's and man they look like they hit hard..... they have over 2 inches of excursion... i think about getting two 12's but the guy that is selling them said one if in a proper built box will hit harder than 2 12's....

they are the brahma series from what i've seen they are sweet subs.. i'm thinking 2 12's at 1600 wrms a piece that should be pretty nice but the price. here's the link to the guy's website that i might be buying them from.. go to the bottom and click on either the 15, 12 or 10.. what size of amp would i need to run two of the 12's..

I remember reading that the put ona 4x8 panel as the "cone" on the Parthenon.
highly impractical, just for bragging rights if anything. It definitely drew a lot of attention to Adire!

Brahmas are the hotness - my 15 rattles rides and windows next to me. Pounds soooo hard. In fact, TOO hard for the rest of my system (no amp on the components yet). I don't see myself ever adding a second, my car wouldn't be able to support the power required to run another amp to pound another of these beasts.

If you do get one, I would put it in a huge ported box with about 300-350 watts

the guy that's building my sub box has his own company for audio and i'm getting them from him.. the shiva isn;t as powerful as the brahma series...the brahma is 1600 rms 4800 peak where the shiva is 375 rms and 650 total power...if i'm missing something tell me cause i'm not that great with stereo equipment...

brahma is a great subwoofer. the passband is huge on it. plays deep, plays high. Does bass test tone music, and still hits the kickdrum attack. its a little inefficient, but if you have lots of power, itll take it. just keep feeding it more and more and more and more power, the volume capability compared to the general market on this forum is nuts.
one 12 ported, and youll agree one is all you need. if you have 1500 rms, I promise thats how you'll feel for a few weeks at least.
its a very kind woofer to poor installs. so even if you have absolutely ZERO clue what you are doing, chances are itll sound great anyways.

thanks.. yeah i have a guy designing a sub box on his computer so he says that the box will be made for the sub also he's pretty much doing everything for me and showing how it;s done along the way.
the excursion is 26mm linear and there is 25.4 mm in one inch im pretty sure so its not 2 inches like sum1 said. oh and frequency only gets down to 28? booo! these better be cheap!
so how much is like a brahma 12"??
or the cehaper seires 12"?

The link you posted is a bit biased. It happens to be in the official Ascendant Audio forum. I'd like to see reviews from other places before I would decide on one.
Btw, what is the price on an atlas12 vs a shiva? Are they comparable? I'm going to keep my eye out and read more on these subs.

i'm pretty sure a single 12" brahma would be more that enough. Put it in a large ported box and i doubt u would want more. I have 2 adire shivas in a 4.6 ft^3 box tuned at 35hz with a mtx 801d, and i don't think i could take any more than that. Wouldn't mind having a single brahma though, would leave me with some space in my trunk.
