i have an alpine 9845 in my civic and the presets keep clearing out when i take the face off. it dosent happen all the time but it still a pain in the a**. i brought it back to the store after it happend a few times and they said never heard of such a thing but still gave me a new radio but yesterday it happend again. can anyone help me?

constant isnt hooked up right, they hooked both constant 12v+(memory) and ignition from the car to the ignition input on the radio, so it doesnt have memory. It still works because both wires are being fed when the car is on, but when it's off, it has no power source. Easy fix they shouldve picked up the first time you took it back..

as a matter of fact, just take your car back to them, and say "my radio has no constant" if the installers look at you like "duuuuhhhhhuhuuhhhuh" id suggest you not take your car there anymore.

Actually, just take it back and kick the installer in the *****. Then slap him across the face and say this; "Are you F%ing kidding me? You've never seen a radio with no constant memory, and you do this for a living????" Apparently, he doesn't even know what the constant hot wire does! Best buy can suck sometimes.

well i went back to best buy and told them about the radio having no constant so the looked at the wire and told me that its hooked up right and that it must be my car. so the guy told me to bring in back wednesday and they will run a wire from my battery. its gonna cost 20$. does this sound right or what?

good news i got the problem fixed for free and upgraded to the alpine 9851 for only $50 more. so i got it for 220 which is a great deal
