rear deck 6x9 holes....?

I'm adding some sound deadening in the rear deck and was wondering if it would be better to cover the holes or leave them open. I won't be putting any speakers in there. I remember reading somewhere it would be good since it would allow for more bass to get into the cabin. But i was thinking since the plastic part will go over it, the air being pushed into the cabin from the trunk might cause it to come loose or make more rattle. Has anybody tried leaving them uncovered? How did that work out?

I don't think it would matter. I've never done it over the speaker holes but I wouldn't see any reason why you could or why you couldn't. Try it and let us know I guess
