this place has VERY cheap dicounted wholesale stuff-----> www.savinglots.com
(I've bought lots of stuff from these people, and love them!)
I'd suggest 2 12's cuz you'll get use to the 2 10's or 1 12" real fast and wish you had 2 12"s

if you dont want crazy bass dont get 2 12''. i have 1 10'' and its plenty of bass. and if you plan on doing more to your audio get a good headunit. dont be cheap it will be the brains of your system once you perfect it.

what is your price limit, because you will have to spend a good penny for an amp. If you are limited for space, get a DVC 10 or 12 if not then two 10s, but size is more important on what kind of music you listen to. If its fast bass with a big kick back ( DnB, Dance, Euro, Trance, um... stuff like that
Rock can sometimes fall into here but depends on what kind like alternative and stuff) then you prob want a 10, if you listen to slower stuff with bass that last a long time ( RnB, Hip Hop, Rap, ect again rock can fall into here just depends on what kind u listen to) then you will prob want a 12. Just my 2 cents and my preference. Again this is varies from sub companies... so a 10 from one doesn't sound like a 10 from another.

ya listen to mostly rap and some rock/punk but does like 2 10's sound better than 1 12 ive hear of rockford and i like it its a clean sound but there jsut two many to choose from and two many amp lol i cant decide
I recommend a single 12" Adire Audio Shiva, powered off a 4 channel amp with two channels bridged, if you don't have an amp for your front alpines yet. Then, power the front alpines with the remaining two channels. I have a shiva in a sealed box an they really don't need a lot of power to get really low, i think i only have about 150 watts going to it now RMS.
A budget would help a lot, but a shiva can be had for $125, plus a 4 channel amp for another 150ish, plus wome wiring, it should be doable under 350, depending on your box building skills.

get 1 alpine type X 12" sub. that should be good. u can power up to 1000 watts RMS if u wanna go that far, but i have mine powered at 800 watts RMS and it suffices just fine. clean, clear, accurate, yet powerful.

JL amps use true watts.
for example, a lot of amps (like alpine and many other top name brands) say 1000 watts RMS, but thats only at 1 ohm. They are like 800 watts at 2 ohm or 700 watts 4 ohm. (something like that)
JL amps are nice because if its an 1000 watt amp, no matter how u wire them or how many ohms u set them up for, they will always give u a nice pure 1000 watts.

Budget... that usually means you want to spend as little as possible.
That said, I'd also recommend an Adire Audio Shiva 12". Power it with as little as 75 watts and up to 300 watts. I'd go with a JBL amp for the cheap power. You could get a setup that'd fit your wants just fnie for about $200 before box and wires.
Shivas are probably the best budget bang out there.
