Help, removing door linning EX sedan
I was wondering if anyone can help give me a good idea on how to remove my door lining so I can replace my speakers. I'm not sure how to do it, and it’s a new car so I don't want to break anything or have any lose door pieces rattling later on.
Also is it necessary that I use a "Panel Popper" to remove the lining? Any advantage to using one? Maybe a lesser chance of breaking the clips?
In this first pic I know there are like 2 screws that need to be removed behind the chrome door handle.

my main question is how do I dissasemble this whole armrest/power window section???

???

much thanks! to anyone helping me out..

about the speakers:
Sorry forgot to mention that. I'm putting in the Alpine Type S components. I know, I know they're not the best, but I didn't feel like spending a lot. besides I'm sure they'll be a vast improvement over the stock non components.
thanks again..

alright, I'll make this quick. Must of these DIY's don't get into details that sometimes make things easier.
First thing, you got the first two screws so no need for that.
Second, Looking at your picture of the armrest, look at the side closest to the speaker, you will see a little notch in the plastic and a little tab inside the notch. Get a flat screwdriver and put in between the notch and the tab, not against the notch and door, and push the tab in alittle and and turn the screw driver. It will pop the front of the plastic off and the back just has two little plastic hooks. After that you will see two phillips screws that hold the door panel to the door. There should be one towards the front and one towards the back, behind the piece you just took off. Then take out the little piece that we almost all have tweeters in. The little piece above the door. Pop the top out and lift it a little. The bottom just has two more little hooks that hold it. The you got grab the door panel from the bottom by the speaker and give it a tug. There will be about eight or nine little white plugs that hold it on. Just make sure if you pull any out of the door, you take them out and re-insert them in the door panel. You'll see what I mean when you get this far. Hit me up if you need any thing else.
Had a window regulator go out on me last month so I've had my window out like three times already. Just hate it when people don't tell you everything you should know in a DIY. PEACE

Ok look at the pic closely I did up...You see where there is a red square thing thats a screwdriver just put it right there and pull towards you ..that piece will pop off then youll have 2 screws inside aprox where i did the two round circless..
and where the door handle is just pop off that small plastic black square piece and 2 screws will be there...
Then once its all of grab a screw driver and put it at the bottom of the door where th panel ends..and pop it off..
be carful the door handle needs to be shifted sideways so that the panel will slip through it

you don't need a panel popper. Just pry the panel up a little bit by the speaker and give it a tug. It will pop right out. And for Vipers pic: Move the screw driver down where my arrow is and you'll see the notch I was talking about.

thanks a bunch!
If you arent using a clip puller, slide the flat head along the base of the trim until you hit where the clip goes into the door. It is there and only there that you should pry to free the cips. One gripe I have with Honda interiors is that the plastic housings where the clips go on the doors, kicks, sills, etc are weak as hell. Pulling somewhere between the two clips will usually break the plastic surrounding the clip and then you are SOL pal. Considering you got a camera, take some pics during your install. We like looking at stuff like that here. Even it's as boring as a striaght up MDF baffle for Alpine comps install. Do it nice and clean and professional, and I'd like to see it.

before I open it all up and get a good look at it, does anybody have a recomendation where to put the crossover?
I'm going to surface mount the tweeters on the sail panel (triangle plastic piece) with the supplied pods that came with the speakers.. should look pretty clean when Its all said & done..

Depends largely on what you wanna do. If you wanna display it for aesthetics put it in the trunk or something. If you wanna run as few wires as possible the shortest distance, wrap it up in plastic and install it in the door with the speakers. Under the seat works too and so does the kick panel. I have my two, rather large, Q Series MB Quart xovers in the trunk on the back of my box. Main reason? All I had was 4 connector speaker wire, so the wire would be there anyway, and it made it a little easier to play around with my tweeter levels. My GF's I put in the kick panels cause they were really really friggin' small. All preference my man.
BTW dude, you waitin' for this awful MA winter to end or what? I'm already shining up the Honda CBR . . .

well my cross overs are about the size of a big bar of soap. & I wanna run as little wire as possible. So I'll stick them in/on the door somewhere.
yes, this winter is awful. I gaurantee it will be my last New England winter though.
