what is the difference?
I have 2 blueprints for ported enclosures for 2 IDMAX's.
One is 2.3 cu. ft. @ 28hz, the other is 2.3 cu. ft. @ 30hz. what is the difference in sound? the 28hz is larger, so if it is going to sound the same then I might as well save some space.

in sound nothing, you may notice that the 28HZ box is a little deeper in bass but I cant see 28 - 30 hz being that big of diff. You will get higher spl @28hz but maybe by 1 to 2 db, barely noticeable.Call the manufactoror on it becuase they will have better info on there product then anyone in here.

ID generaly doesn't recommend a ported box.
what size subs are they btw. If they are 12s. You need 1.6 cubes for each 12 in a sealed box. Ported is an even bigger box about 2.8 cubes per sub.
And I disagree about spl. I believe you get higher spl with a higher frequency.

they are 12". I got these blueprints from one of the tech guys @ image dynamics. once they get their new site up and running it will have them on it.
you think I should just stick w/ sealed?

I have'nt seen to many ported! I been to alot of shows but thats why I said to call the tech department of image dynamics no one knows more about there subs then them.Unless some kid in here installed a couple and all of sudden he's an expert!.
do they sound pretty nice sealed? i might just stick w/ that afterall I don't know, I've never heard then either way (except in a ported box NOT to specs, sounded ok). i'll just do both and see which is better I guess
