anyone own a clarion HU?
anyone own a clarion HU?
ok, i have a clarion 845mc and the play functions are pissing me off....
this hu looks good(conservative and looks pretty close to stock), and sounds good but the interface is just garbage.
i find that it's very hard to sort through songs on an MP3 cd and the Random feature also sucks.
if the deck is set to random or random folder, it doesn't pick a song randomly if i press FWD. all it does is proceed to the next track. the only way i found around this is to press RND twice (basically turns random off then on again to make it fwd to another random track)
anyone have any other suggestions on how to make this damn thing randomize the tracks? clarion should fire whoever programmed the software for the HU.

Dude I got the same HU and I didn't had any problems at all. I use an mp3 cd as well.
Just click on random once and there u go it automatically plays random music.
Pressing random is the only way to forward to a random track.
The only wish I had was they should have put numbers on the remote so you can pick songs you like.

I don't know why yours turns off when you hit random twice. I think when you click on random you have to wait for the song to load and then click random again and there u go it will choose another random song.

also, i noticed that when i do that, it the same songs keep repeating but in different orders. eg. i have 150 songs on an mp3 cd but it seems as though only 20 or so songs are even in the random loop. it's probably because the cdplayer does not remove a song as a next possible track to play. good programmers will probably program code to remove a track from the pool of available random songs once the song has been played. this prevents the track from being played over and over again...
