question about terminals in the fuse box.

In the fuse box in the engine compartment there looks to be two terminals you can use to tie in accessories. Is this what they are for?

If they are; does anyone know if its safe to run 1/0 for my amps to this?

I'm thinking that if these terminals are to be use for acessories it may also be tied into that circuit that judges current demand and will run the alternator more to supply the extra current.

1/0 needs to go direct to battery, acc circuits are OK for lower amperage applications.

Lets start from step 1.

If you think I'm an idiot I refer you to this thread with pictures.

http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...light=charging

In the picture in that thread you see some cables coming off the fuse box.

I was wondering if I could run 1/0 to those posts and if I did would it show a load to the ELD.

Secondly I was wondering if the ELD (If you don't know what it is then you obviously didn't read that post I refred to) would blow up if I hooked up my power to those posts.

Those posts are actually connected directly to the battery, before the ELD. You can hook up to those, but they are not going to show the extra load to the ELD. If you look to the left of those posts, you will see another connection that is available. I am thinking that hooking up to that one will show the load, but not sure on this yet.

Also, as stated above I would not hook up 1/0 or any gauge wire that is larger than the wire currently connected to those posts.

I connected two 8 ga wires to those posts in both my vic's. No problems for 2 years now. I don't think you can go with any wire bigger than that though. It be pointless because the source wire from the battery to the terminal is 8ga.
