sucks for me...
sucks for me...
This is really not related to any I.C.E but since this is the only forum i post in here it goes... I'm driving along in NYC and i stop in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway for a redlight. A 1989 dodge ram van is coming out of a parking lot and wants to make a left turn. The driver of the van (some russian chick) wants to get into the left lane, so she goes to cross all three lanes of traffic and cant really squeeze through... so she is behind my car and i edge up as much as i can to the car in front of me when BAAAMMM, she hits my car... Now she realizes shes has hit my car and decides to back up, tearing the bumper and tail lights clean off my car.
NOW, shes looking at me telling me she wants to settle this without insurance, i took one look at my car and said "hell no bitch". I call the local precinct to report the accident, and get a unit dispatched to my location for an accident report. Once the officer arrived, she starts telling him how i backed into her car and when i went to pull away my bumper came off. At this point i just sit silently and wait. You may be asking yourself wait for what, its for her to put her signature on the police report. Once she did that BAM, i whip out my badge and advisor her that I am an off duty NYPD officer.
The look on her face was priceless! The only thing better then that was the look on her face when she was handcuffed and put into the back of the crusier for filing a false report. Payback is a motherfu**er. Ill see her at her arraignment monday morning (too late to get a judge until then.)
Now i just gotta get my vic fixed, prolly gonna charge me more cause i got the magnesium metallic color. Anybody had any paintwork done with this color, if so can u lemme know how much you paid.

1) IBTM
2) For you: sorry about your car man, but I'm sure you'll get it fixed with a minimum of expense on your part, let's hope all the damage is just cosmetic.
2) For her: Bwahahahahahahahahahahaa*burp*hahahahahahaaaaa

sorry to hear about your car, but that russian chick got where she deserved. I hope they prosecute her to the full extent of the law. I hate people who lie, especially when it comes to accidents. Something similar happened to me, but i couldn't prove the guy was lying so i ended up with the blame.
Hate to hear about the ride. If it makes you feel any better my 01 just got rear-ended by a good friend of mine. The bad thing is Im getting married on 3/11 (HELL YEAH) and we are going to our mountain chalet in my drooping *** civic. Plus there is still no word if he had insurance or not (long story). When you got hit was there a lot of sub-frame/unibody damage or was it more replacements of plastics and metal working?

I think the damage is mostly cosmetic, looks like she just tore of the bumper when she backed out and took the drivers side tail light out as well.
I called the precinct where it happened today and she is still in custody. Seems she couldn't get a bail hearing until monday. Shes only looking at a class a misdemeanor, so she'll probably get a fine and probation.

i would say its obvious though, traffic is heading one direction and why would he back into her? unless he went WOT while he was couple feet away from her front bumper and went at it... thats just crazy. him being an officer is even better; he might know the officer that came to the scene or know of him. policemen help policemen, familes help familes, friends help friends, etc etc.
but i still want to know lol
That does suck, and I hope that you get it taken care of. If I remember correctly when I was underwriting auto loans for Major Chevrolet, New York is a beotch of a state for insurance claims. Good luck on that.

It kind of frightens me about the state of our justice system. Had this been any other layman from the common public, she probably would have still been free.
Here's some irony:
In my business, there are what to said to be the 3 P's that you take extra precaution in lending money to:
Plumbers, Preachers, and Policeman.
The profession profile that we have shows that cops are usually.....dishonest in making Promise to Pays, and live above their means in debt to income. So my question is: Why does your word have a heavier weight?

Well, before I was a cop I used to sell personal lines insurance, so I know a thing or two about that. The reason he took my word is because there is no way possible for me to back into her car, then instantly move it to the side and tear my bumper off. Anyone who looked at this accident scene cause see there is no way possible for me to have caused this at all.
I also ran her license today, she had 5 at fault accidents last year. So i called my friend over at her insurance company to find out she pays over $8,000 a year for her insurance. I wouldnt have pushed the issue about getting her arrested if she didnt get all up in my face saying it was my fault. Lady, how can it be my fault when my bumper is hanging off your car. So she deserves everything she gets for lying.
As for the bigger fish comment, you cant let fish like this get big, you have to teach them a lesson when its small sh*t so they dont move on to bigger things. If I bust 10 guys a week for lets say, spousal abuse, and nine of them learn their lesson and don't hit their wife again then its worth it. If she gets away with it whats to say that the next 4 people she hits this year (cause we all know she is going to) she isnt going to pull the same crap on.
I would have given my statement to the officer then he would have wrote up the report. But, since she was in such a hurry to LIE to the officer and tell him her story, she screwed herself. All I wanted was to get my car fixed, I wasn't looking to get her arrested. I would have taken the report and called her insurance company the next day, she dug her own grave.
The funniest thing was when i leaned into my car to get my insurance id cars she got all up in my face telling me how i was going to regret calling the cops and that it would come back to haunt me. Looks like it came back to haunt her instead.

I'm not a fan of cops, but i agree with what you said as well. Some people just have no ethnics and deserve what they get. I'm a firm believer of the motto "what goes around comes around". She's probably done the same thing to other people, just this time she did it to the wrong person.

I dislike most cops. Especially the ones that were high school losers and joined the police to be on a power trip. Honestly, i dont how anyone can be on a power trip by giving you a 5mph over the speed limit ticket. I've run into many of those.
As a police office you get a lot of power and not a lot of income when compared to other professions. Some people use that power to there financial benefit. You also have to keep in mind that there are good police officers out there, doing there job, helping the community and being under paid at the same time.
If you were an office on the scene, you will have a propensity to believe a fellow officer then a civilian. Just like if you see an accident, you have more of a bias to believe your friend over a stranger. That doesn't mean the cop will automatically side with the cop. From the way he described the accident, it would've been ruled her fault even if he wasn't a cop after risk analysis. So i would give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

that girl got what she deserved...
and for some of you guys who have problems with police... my question is why they are only there to keep you safe and from doing something stupid that could have landed you a big fine or in jail or dead

Everybody hates a cop when hes writing you a ticket, but when you really need one i doubt anyone will hesitate calling 911 b/c they dont like cops. I've risked my life over and over to save people who do hate me, but i still do the job everyday. Looking back on things, i shoulda been a fireman.. i could drink all day and still retire after 20 years lol

Unlike the others, I don't dislike cops. My father retired after 25 years in 1998, so I know something about it. Just like any other profession, there are bad apples. The thing that makes them bad is that the few that do make mistakes, do it in public. Being a cop is like being under a constant microscope, so your more likely to be judged after you make a decision that may not be the best. Let's face it, if all of my decisions when determining credit worthiness were out in the public, I would probably be seen as a sexist, racist pig. The problem is that I am far from that, it may be the perception from someone that doesn't understand what I do.
The only thing that I wish was that a college degree was required, and not in criminal justice. This would judge responsibility levels a lot more, and someone with that much power should show more before just being handed a badge and gun. This wasn't abuse of power, but a little bit of preferential treatment that shouldn't happen any different that if it was you or me.
I'm not a fan of cops at all..But what happend to your civic sucked I think she should of been fined or something for trying to file a false accident report not probation thats kind of extreme for that situation it seems thats the only thing the Judge's do now-a days hand you probation or take that bus ride to the island. She shouldn't of got in your face though telling you thats its your fault and not hers. so I guess she got what she deserved?
