My best advice for beating it, take as many extensions as you can. In NY you can get a last minute extension for your court hearing for 2 or even 3 times depending on where you live, and the usually extend it for months. The cop can do the same too. Odds are if you extend it enough, the cop won't show and the ticket should be dropped by the judge.
If you can plea it down, from my background in insurance sales every ticket will go on your license and has the potential to raise your premium. If you can get it to a ticket for not having ID cards on you or a parking violation, then it shouldnt go on your license... other then that its going on your license. I used to sell insurance for all New England states, NY and NJ so if you need help for that just let me know, i'll see what i can do.

This way if he hires a lawyer, he'll get 2 thrown out, 1 reduced and the other will stick. If I only write one ticket, and its your first offense (or close to it) you can get plea'd down. It wouldn't be up to the cop whether it gets plea'd down or not. I see you live in VT and i'm not too sure if you can even plea a ticket down there.

That's so cool. I would become a police officer just in case I get into that kind of situation. Damn, I should start carrying my cereal box NYPD badge

oh i just realized you work in brooklyn. i live in sheapshead bay right by the 61st precinct on coney island avenue. what precinct / neigborhood are you located in? btw, why do you work for the NYPD when you can be making more money, have better benefits and a safer environment on the island?
