Made my own Power Hub, Wutcha Think?
I am running a number or 8 awg lines through my firewall. inside the dash i needed to make some kind of hook up for easy access to adding lights and other rice
so i came upw ith this
I purchased a 8 screw thingy.. NO idea wut its called/for.. maybe u guys know? maybe this IS wut its for? lol
so i decided i only really wanna run 4 points of a 8awg line so i used two lines.
i also am going to cover the red wire with a blue sheething stuff in the engine bay just cause its the hot shi.t
anywho. here's the pics.. wutcha think? i tinned the wires with solder to make them a bit harded. but because the wires so thick it looks a little crappy heh. but oh well it does the job

Dont run an amp off that...only lights and low current stuff. The power strip will not be able to handle too much power. And thats nice but you need to cover the whole thing. If you can after you wire everything up wrap it in electrical tape to prevent it from falling apart or grounding itself on anything. NO BARE METAL!
otherwise good idea...just be careful with it.

you could of just got a distrobution block and had things look nicer and be more safe. As for the current setup it can work but its not a recommended solution because they make distro blocks for just that purchase that can accept one incoming connection with multiple outputs.

the only distro blocks i have or have found are for larger guage wire like 10awg+
nothing for the smaller crap thats comes with lights
not to mention distro blocks arn't cheap. and when i will hooking up 10 or more light set's i dont want to have to pay 35 bucks for a block for every 4 lights
this ws cheap. and it works.. won't have any seriosue ampage on the line so it should be fine

thats a barrier strip. Usually its used for low current hookups. Tim Baile used it so he could disconnect his amp in an installer easier, it was a creative way to install it.

the more unexposed wiring, the higher a risk of shorting out the wire. If the strip isn't secured well, one of the soldered wires could snap

anything installed in a car should be mounted, having equipment laying on the floor, even though it fits, it isnt safe. Cars are a harsh environment. Lots of bumps, jolts, and acceleration/decceleration forces

i will be running really low gauge wire from the engine bay into a gromet threw my trunk and putting a block there for 8awg wire for my xbox etc.
it will come into picture.. i have enouhg electrical and home wireing knowledge to not burn my car out
