Re: help, fuse keeps blowing

hi i know this thread is pretty old but i am having similar probs. I put in halogen bulbs recently (100w/90w) and every 2-3 weeks my headlight suddenly wont work. high beama and park lights work though. last time i had it serviced in Honda one of the 15A fuse blew but this time i cant find any blown fuses all seem fine. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

okay, this is just really dangerous. the wires are only rated for 15A, so that's why there's only a 15A fuse in there. by placing a 20A fuse (or bigger) you're allowing too much current to flow through there and you are just BEGGING for your car to catch on fire. this isn't a scare tactic, this is the truth. put a 15A back in there before you burn up your car.

that said, you need a relay harness if you want to run HID's. this has been covered tons of times in many threads. again, running HID's off the stock harness is asking for an electrical fire. HID ballasts can pull in excess of 20A during startup. our stock wires aren't designed for that. that's why you need a relay harness with bigger wires that hooks directly to the battery.
