Can anyone tell me more info on the Clarion VRX755VD? Is this model out yet? Can you add navigation to it?

I mainly interested in using this model in conjunction with my ipod, but I cannot find any details on how the interface works between the HU and the ipod. The specs say "IPod Control (Requires Additional CCA649/iPod Connecting Cable)" but I can't find any info on that part. Does anyone know anything about this?

I mostly interested in how the connection happens between the two. Is it like the alpine interface where the connection charges the ipod and gets the data?

On a side note, I was leaning toward the Alpine 9835 or possibly the new 9855 but now after running across this Clarion HU I'm having second thoughts on the Alpine.

From what I remember from CES the unit is due out sometime at the ending of this month/begining of next month. Im not sure about the charging thing, but from the looks of it the IPOD controls on the Clarion are a little better then Alpine's.

As for nav Clarion just released their Nav system for this year and it is a stand alone system which means you can not add the Clarion nav to the 755, but If you really want nav buy alpines nav and put it through one of the inputs on the 755.

I got the Clarion VRX755VD this weekend. I was reading through the mannual and it sounds like it will ot be able to charge the ipod. I don't have the ipod cable yet because its on backorder (or not in stock yet). But when I read through the manual that's how it sounded : (

I'm thinking of returning the Clarion HU (even though I love the interface with ipod except the non-charging part) and possibly going with one of the Alpine HUs with ipod interface. The charging part of the connection is important to me. I want to be able to just leave my ipod in the car most of the time and not worry about having to charge it.

What do you guys think I should do?

I have the vrx935vd and I was not happy with the ipod interface. My alpine unit I used was better but I've stuck with the clarion now and putting my alpine in my other vehicle.

Can you explain what you don't like about the interface? Also why you like the Alpine better. What about the other stuff coming out? I think Pioneer may have something coming out.

Do you have the Clarion CCA649 ipod interface cable? I'm not it's even out yet so I'm curious about your experience if you do have it. Oh yeah, and where can I get one right now I have to wait until 4.22.05
