tell that to the quarter inch board in my garage
tempered masonite is kinda like MDF, I personally think its a bit stiffer. but both do exist in a 1/4 inch thickness. I guarantee it

Really? Well I've looked everywhere under the sun around here for 1/4" MDF. Two lumber yards told me they don't come that size. So I just assumed it was true. Anyway, Masonite was another consideration I've made.
definitely masonite. are you merely making trim around the baffle? as in, baffle is vinyled, then you cut a trim board like a border around the subwoofer, then use that as the starting panel to carpet the rest of the box?
if so, id use 1/2 inch MDF. gives it a little deeper look.
so whats the plan?
