Running inverter parallel to amp

currently i got a MTX RT202 amp in my car which is pose to be 50watts rms per channel so im guessing thats a 100watts. im using the walmart brand 300watt amp wiring kit. i just bought a 500watt inverter to power a xbox which is suppose to be 100watts and a lilliput lcd which im gonna power using the molex connector inside the xbox to give it a clean 12v connection. now i was wondering if i can just wire the inverter parallel to the amp so that way i wouldnt have to run another 8ga wire to the battery. and i was wondering if having the inverter next to the amp in the trunk would affect anything?
thanks
