what is the best radar???

okay I been reading alot about the valentine 1 and passport 8500 x50. Which radar detector do you guys suggest is better???

depends where you live, make sure local law enforcement does use the RDD radar detector detector. IT can detect both the passport and the valentine. Theres about 100 Spectra RDD used by OPP in the Greater Toronto Area

I got the Passport 8500 X50. It has been rated #1 by a number of magazines.

Depends on where you live. Here in Vancouver, BC, they use LIDAR speed detection equipment almost exclusively. There's no hope in picking that up unless it is your car which is targeted. The police are quite proud of that fact too. That's why detectors are perfectly legal here. They give you no advantage here. LIDAR is an IR laser which illuminates a 10cm spot on your license plate which then bounces back to the receiver to get a speed reading. Very little of this energy is scattered to be picked up by detectors.
