Wow, that is much cheaper than I expected.

What is a good brand to go with? I was thinking of buying an alpine one(I have the 9833 HU). Are they worth the price? How long do they last, on average? If I want to play DVD's from my PS2 is that ok?

Thanks for the help.

You can play through your PS2. Don't know if that particular Alpine has Aux In's on the back, but if so, you will need nothing more than the screens, and wiring for the ps2 to make it work. If it doesn't have aux in, you may have to get an FM modulator, or some type of RCA convertor in order to play the sound through your vehicle's sound system. What's a good brand? Depends on how much you want to spend. I'm partial to Rosen Entertainment, and ICON TV brands, but you'll more than likely pay more for them that your basic standalone monitor because of the quality.

I have found some on ebay, Ive never heard of the brands before. I paid 400 for my Alpine 9833 and I feel as if I paid too much money. Oh well, what is done is done.

What do you think of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38650

If anyone knows of another one that is high quality for its price please let me know.

I would like to say that price doesnt matter, but it does. However, I would rather pay a little extra cash for something that lasts than to pay less for something that does not.

Thanks for the help.

Personally, I wouldn't order preinstalled monitors. They use the lowest quality monitors they can in order to insure the highest possible profit margin. A prime example of this is the US company Vizualogic. True, it's convenient to have it where all you have to do is wire it. Problem is, the quality is shotty at best.

Hm. Excuse my naiveness but what exactly is a preinstalled monitor? How would I go about getting one that has not been installed? I made an attempt to look for Rosen Entertainment, and ICON TV brands, but I could not find any.

Thanks again.

Doubt you'll find Icon or Rosen on Ebay, and when you do, it's usually their base models. Pre-installed are like the visors you posted with the monitors installed in them already, or headrests such as the Vizualogics. This basically means that they are already fabricated into the headrest or visors, and you only have to wire them up and swap the parts out, as opposed to actually having to fabricate/modify the headrest or visor to accomodate a screen. It's the hassle/work free kind. The screens in them suck ****. Anyway, here's ICON and Rosen's sites, respectively...

I had 4 in tere, one in eah visor, and one in each headrest. Those are gone, and now I'm working on some new tv's (fabricating the pieces myself). Which is why I bought the extra interior pieces I did.

Im gonna add my weight behind the Icon TV as well, I was pretty impressed with their 9" widescreen dropdowns, I prefered those even over the 15" standard dropdowns.

No, I bought a second set of visors to make mine out of. Though I didn't use ICON's in that install. I wanted something that the average consumer could afford at the time because I sell some stuff for ashop here, and didn't want something that not everyone could just go in and buy. I'm working on an install that has the TV's glassed in. I'm not revealing any details because once it's done, I'll post pics, which I'll also do when the rest of the car is done. I've been taking pics while doing the work as well, but I don't like posting progress pics.

No, I didn't take pics until I started fabricating the pieces. I am just taking pics of the fabrication, and they are hard copies(actual photos, not digitals) that I'll have to locate a scanner for to get them on here.
