Air/Fuel Gauge not workin

well, i got 3 gauges: air fuel, EGT, and boost, for x-mas and i was going to install them today but ran into a little problem with the air fuel gauge. i followed the DIY exactly for it. i dont know if this makes a difference, but i tapped all three gauges into 1 ground wire and used a positive 12v location of the yellow wire behind the cig lighter and as soon as i did this the air fuel gauge red the farthest rich that it could and i just assummed that was because i didnt do the purple wire for the o2 signal yet. so, i took the purple wire and ran it to the black wire for the o2 sensor in the engine and it still read full rich on the air fuel gauge even when i revved it and left it idle and everything. anyone know what the problem is or how i get it to work? thanks.

Not 100% sure but it sounds like a crossed wire to me

Those a/f gauges mess up your 02 sensor, and even then they're not accurate like a wideband is. If you insist on running one for the flashy lights that don't mean anything, get a new 02 sensor and only use it for the gauge.
