Hey I thought I would share my experiance with everyone. I replaced my group 51 battery with a full size 34XCD deep cycle exide battery. I was so amazed at how $hity our stock batteries are. When I first started up my car after the new battery was installed, The starter motor cranked over so fast. It sounded like it cranked twice as fast. I am guessing because this battery has almost double the cranking amps compared to the stock battery. This battery has improved my system 10 fold. I know that the alternator powers the system when the car is running but this battery has made a HUGE difference in my opinion. Here is a link to where I got the battery. I was pricing the yellow top optima and this battery and I couldn't justify the extra money for the yellow top.

They were very prompt in getting my battery. I had it in 3 days for $110 shipped to my door. I was amazed. Install was easy too. Took about 1 hour to install battery and clean up all my wiring.

I think that this battery has a 18 month free replacement I can't remember how long the rest of the warranty is. When I said that my system has improved from this battery, I meant that it sounds like the amps are getting a consistent level of voltage now. I don't hear any dips in the bass. Highs are crystal clear. Just overall cleaner sound. My lights don't dim nearly as bad. My indiglow gauges don't dim as much either. I used to have a problem with them when my system was cranked up. they would get very dim. Not any more.

my lights dim pretty bad. I'm just waiting for this battery to die and then I'm going big. I don't know much about caps but I'm thinking of getting one.

I have a 1 farad RF (punch) cap.. and my lights dont dim even under heavy bass, but i dont crank the bass a ton for hours at a time.. but for in town drives w/ tons of bass i've had no probs w/ my 1 farad cap w/ stock batt... however Im thinkin next battery will be this one or a size 34 optima.. and if I had the money to waste on a high output alternator, I would do that too.
