In the DIY it shows you where the grommet is in the passenger floorboard. I'd use that...

patau13 will become famous soon enough
Find the gromment with the DIY, stick a needlenose plyer thru from the inside and open (you need 2 people for this), then reach into the engine compartment, feel w/your finger for the needlenose and stick the end of the wire in the plyer, tell your friend to squeeze and pull.

drivers side. sounds like they made it tougher on themselves. The battery is on the passenger side, so it's just more efficient to go through that side. Pull your carpet back under the dash and you'll see a wad of wires behind there. That would be where you would poke a hole through for your own wire. BECAREFUL though.

the passenger side grommet referred to in the DIY in my 01 ex coupe has solid metal behind it - no hole. I ended up sharing the drivers side hole rather than bore a new one. Be careful is right - you don't want to damage any of that wiring.

Passenger side is a few dollars cheaper too!! A couple feet of thick guage wire isn't exactly cheap. I pulled my 4 guage through duck-taped to a coat hanger (had to do it by myself)........I wish i had somebody to hold pliers for me.

Word.
Depending on the manufacturer of the wire and the shop you get it from at least. Our shop carries JL Kits and Stinger on the spools.. the 4 awg Stinger is $2 a foot.. and the JL 4awg kit comes with I believe 18 feet of wire and is $140 or so?
The Stinger 0/1 awg is $4 a foot. Considering if you run it through the driver's side.. you will need at least an extra 10 feet (depending on the route through the engine bay).. that's an extra $20-$40!! Save yourself the cash and go through the passenger side.
