Yep its an AVIC-n1. I have pioneer 3 ways in the front and 2 ways in the back. Also a 12 inch kenwood sub in the trunk(just in a regular particle board or whatever box) with a 700 watt pioneer amp. I cant figure out what to do with this gap in the bottom though. I kinda wish i could mount it on the bottom slot and have the gap up top since the screen flips out over my vents.

You can mount it on the bottom slot. You need to buy a double din installation kit. I believe there is a DIY on here for it somewhere. People have done it because they don't like how the vents can put moisture into your LCD screen. Becareful about that.

Props to Popcornplaya. I'm thinking of doing it myself, so that I can see my deck better in the sunlight.

I think its awsome. The nav system is really nice, it has nearly all points of interest in my area and all the roads are current. The sound is awsome, much better than the stock cd deck. Its easy to use. Couple things that could have been better though. The mp3 function only plays cds, i wish it could play dvd's then i wouldnt ever have to change disks. The most annoying then is that you have to change from the nav system dvd if you want to program a destination, i wish it had a built in hd for that sorta thing. But then i only use the nav funtion when i want to go somewhere i havent been before, which isnt very often, so i dont mind to much. But like i said when i do use it it works great.
Thinking about it the things i would change would be:
dvd mp3 funtion as well as playlist support from winamp or something
navagtion built into the hard drive.
Added bonus would be to play divx or xvid videos from a dvd.
Another thing is i was disapointed that when in cd or radio mode there wasnt a background animation. I dunno i was expecting something more exciting in those modes.
Overall its worth it to me the way it is. Im horrible at directions, without this i couldnt get anywhere for work, which is one of the main reasons i got a nav system. I have to drive from school to school doing work on servers.

the 2 problems that I had with it are it was horribly, untolerably slow when I used it. also the nav system looked so wierd, i couldnt make sense of anything. It did have a lot of cool features, it was the actual performance of the deck that I didn't like.
doesn't the unit only have 3v pre-outs?
for the price you would think they put some higher outputs on it.
don't get me wrong it's a great unit but i'm all about sound quality and for the price it's not getting me what i would want...i went with the 7500...i don't need nav.

just curious on this nav situation, do you have to pay some kind of fee for your nav stuff to work? i would think it would need to connect to some kind of service to work, or maybe they work out of box. someone enlighten me here.

@ Megahurtz: The nav works pretty fast, i wouldnt consider that to be a problem. is it possible that the one you were looking at was working on the old software version? Mine came with 1.1 installed, i think its a rather new update. As far as the nav system looking wierd i think most of it is logically set out. Maybe you could explain what was weird about it. I had trouble using it at first in map mode, but using the "drivers view" mode i have no trouble at all. That may be just becuase im horrible at reading maps... lol.
@jyoung. There is no monthly fee or anything. The nav system uses standard gps sat's to get its position, then it uses it along with rotational and g meters to determine easier whether or not your changeing velocity or speed. The road system is on a dvd, so it gets updated whenever pioneer wants to update it. I dont think a price has been set yet, but i heard somewhere that replacements could be bought for 80$ or so. I imagine that when they come out with an update they will be available for about that much, maybe less. Truthfully i havent done much research on them. I guess in a year or so ill prob be wanting an update. With what they made on the initial purchase i think they ought to give you the first couple updates for free, but o well, or at least let you download them for those of us with dvd9 burners and loads of bandwidth.

Here ya go.
http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/HO...LS_p_2523.html
And here's the universal pocket that popcornplaya says you need.
http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...8&cat=0&page=1
Based on part number. Dunno why it says FORD/MAZDA/NISSAN/SUBARU/TOYOTA/VOLVO --UNIVERSAL- SERIES under radio multi pocket. This kit is perfect to fill that extra space in double din openings!!! (750) (88-00-9000) (TOYOTA POCKET)

Zoto724 I guess you dont realize this is the only unit that you can even take the map dvd out while using navigation.

@ megahurtz: Your the man!
And yea, loading mp3 cds is a beast. O well, its all good.
Im kinda thinking of getting satalite radio... i dont know yet though. That would solve the cd changing problem. I think id rather have someone else pick the music anyway... im a lazy bum, i never get around to buying cd's. Although that turbo kit would be really cool, ill have to start saving for one.
