http://jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html

this page will show you how to wire them, you need to know wut ohm load ur amp runs, or if you dont have an amp yet.. figure out what amp you plan to get to match ur subs w/it

i have a 200w kenwood amp and it is to old to find out the specs on it. its a 2 channel so I am figuring it can handle a 4 ohm in a bridged mode. am i any where near being right?

so you'd want dual 2ohm... and look up the wiring for 2ohm to get a 4ohm load on the amp..

yea, are those subs you are talking about dual voice coil DVC or not? If they're DVC you'd want 2ohm if they're SVC single voice coil, then you'd want 4ohm

so it would be safe to get the 2ohm sub; wire it in a series; then that would result in a 4ohm load at the amp. just dont want to go clipping and destroy my amp or sub.

clipping is from distortion if im correct on my terms, clipping is if you turn ur gain up all the way and push ur amp too much

ur amp should have gain settings, just dont put ur gain up 100% and turn ur deck up all the way..

research on tuning ur amp but i believe it was said to put ur deck up about 3/4 the put the gain up until it sounds bad then turn it back down to where it still sounds good... i think thats how u do it but im not sure... ludlamtheory is the one to talk to, him n MegaHertz are the first to audioheads that come to mind

i dont think you have anything to worry about.. most amps have overheating protection and i dont think ur amp would have a min ohm load more than 4ohms, mine is 4ohm min.. meaning it will eventually hurt it to run 2ohm load.. but i HIGHLY doubt urs would be more than 4 ... so 4 should b safe..

ask around to ppl who know kenwood..

yea i'd get his opinion too if ur worried about it, just remember not to turn ur gain up all the way cause distortion will ruin ur sub

You want 4 ohm if they are single coil, 2 if they are dual. You want to give your amp a 4 ohm load (I assuming you wanna bridge it), so if it's DVC (which I believe it is), dual 2 will give you a 4 ohm load

or even dont bridge it. It will still draw the same current @2ohms x 2 as it would @4ohms x 1. It's just easier to wire if you're not sure of what to do.
