windows

Okay guys quick question...you guys know how in the EX the driver side window automatically comes down if you just press it once but the passenger window (if your in the driver position) you have to hold it down....btw im talking about coupes....is there anyway I can buy like the motor of how the driver side window works and make the pasenger window like that? so with one click it can come all the way down from the driver side....and passenger side that would be nice too

It's all in the switch, not sure if it can be done the same for the passenger side but would be neat to see

Yup it's the switch. It won't be easy to mod something like that tho, unless you rebuild the switching mechanism. Prolly impossible unless you have the resources and know how.

It's all integrated. The switching mechanism is on the circuit board. Have fun

See those little plastic white things sticking out? Depending on how they move, the window will roll down (forward), stay still (middle), or roll up (back). Now you may be able to buy a second switch that says auto and just swap it? But I don't know if it's the switch of the design of the sensor on the board that keeps it rolling. Remember that the switch kicks back up even tho the window is rolling down I think. See pic.

I think you need to buy the whole assembly. They don't sell just the switch.

Check if the switch stays depressed until the window rolls down completely. If it pops back up when you let go before the window goes all the way down, then it's not the switch that does it.

I recently purchased the window roll up/down module for my alarm and found that the relays somehow being tripped when I hit the window switch on either driver or passenger side and go auto all the way up or down.

this may not work but......in my old car (2001 audi a4) there was a simple diy that allowed you to make all ur windows auto down.....it came stock with the rfront two but the rears were not. This may work on our cars as well and it may not.

the mod was simply take off the window motor and then unplug the harness within the motor there would be 4 pins, u take some speaker wire that is raw and then do a figure 8 around the pins, place the motor back on and whala!!! it may work i am not sure.....dont ask me how someone found it out i thought it was strange people were puting figure 8 of speaker wire within a window motor anyhow.

if u need detailed instructions u can go to audiworld.com and then hit up forums and b5 a4 forum then search away.

if it works someone let me know and i wil do this mod again!!! if it does work then this would be hot on a 4 door too.....i know i loved it and people were like dan how did u do that

Dude did you know your stock keyless entry on your A4 could be reset with merely a button sequence to roll all your windows up and your sunroof when you locked your doors?

Go buy a DEI 530T(its an window automation module for alarms), even if you dont have an alarm, it will give you one touch up and down on 2 windows. if you want to have one touch from the passenger switch too it can be done, but you'd have to run some wires from the pass door to the module.
