Help installing NEON under seats
I want to install 2 neon tubes not under the seat, but under the dash where u put ur feet when u sit
Anyway they should be wired to a switch somewhere on the dash, and work when the key is turned.. car doesnt need to be running, nor do the lights have to be on.. it's more for drinks/smoke sessions
HELP with a DIY!!

i wired mine useing the remote wire from the radio. and ran the switch to the place where the bastard ex people have a sunroof switch. very easy. just frustrating when you step on the one on the passenger side because it is not level to where you can stick it good to the dash where its hidden. i put mine in 2 days ago- and i broke the one on the passenger side ..... 2days ago. damn females always cause'n damage to my car

wut did u mount the neons to? and how? I gave up finding a spot for the feet area, i have neons under my seats tho they fit really well under the mounts for the seats.. I found 12" red neons @ big lots for $5, they're $2.50 now... the ones walmart carried for $10 forever.. and probably still do..
when i wired my neons, i ran a power line straight from the battery. Because i couldnt tap 5 neons to the cig lighter. The only thing is, make sure you turn off ur neons because they run straight to the battery. That meanst they'll be on even if you turn off your engine, no one wants to wake up in the morning and not be able to start up.
PS if anyone wants some red streetglow neons can pm me. I have two 15inch red neons unopened just sitting in my room.

I had tubes installed, when my theme was blue. Now that I've switched to a black/silver red theme, I used red LED's, and just took out the plastic thing and drilled holes in it to mount the LED's in, You can't see them and with 6 per side, you don't get the glow circles like you would with just one or two led's. Lights up the entier footwell, and you can't see the actual bulbs. They're wired to my Fog light switch from when I had my fogs. When I put my kit on, the OEM fog switch was useless for them. I decided to put it to use, and since they only turn on when the head lights are on, then they're always on when it's dark, and my low beams are on. When the low beams are off, they go off. I never understodd why Honda wired their fogs this way, but regardless, I don't drive with or rarely use my high beams so they are always on with my headlights.

I want to mount one in the back somewhere so the entire inside of the car can glow.. BUT, I dont want a gigantic tube just hanging in the middle of the car. I'd like to install it so it's hidden and only the glow is visible. Any suggestions so the tube isn't just mounted to the inside roof?

You could cut out your rear pillars to accomodate the tues, and let the glow emit from them. Put a piece of plexi/lexan over the opening and sand it down a bit to disperse the light better. You could also tint it. Never seen this done, or did it, but I guess it'd work. Also, I would recommend not doing this with red or blue, unless you want to get hassled by the pigs.
if you want the interior to glow you could also hide some bright LEDs inside the interior light housings. On my grandprix all the dash was red so I took some 1156 LED brake lights and custom fit my interior light (formerly a single 212 bulb) into a socket for the 1156. My whole cabin glowed with thick red light when you opened the door or when the interior was on. If I wanted to do the civic, i'd probably use LEDs in the housing again.

I have LED's in my dome and map lights, they are pretty bright. I guess you could do that, just make sure you remember to turn them off when you get out of the car, and it's off.
Yup, i've got em wired to my dome light so when thats off, they are too. THe key is that because they are brake lights there are like 10 leds or whatever, so they are incedibly intense. I like the pillar idea though.

i have mine wired to switches being powered from the cig. lighter wire. i also have mine mounted under the seat and dash. i have street glows which came with 2 tiny screws. i just screwed them deep down under the dash..not visible, not in the way.
don't mean to barge in but i was wondering if you kinda wanted it like this
i will post a better pic of it later and one of the passenger side..
the power i hooked up to the aux/cig lighter with i spliced the dual cig lighter behind the center console, the i plugged the two neon tubes in which they already have there own switch so i can access the switch when i want it on or off.

smokedcivic, yes that's exactly what I want. However on my car Im having a hard time figuring how I'm gonna mount the passenger side tube, since it's all curvey down there.. not sure if they changed the layout down there for 04?

If the 04 interior is anything like the 01-03, then there's a panel in there held in by clips that you can remove. Once that's out there'll be a few spots you can zip tie the neon tube to.
If you wanted to be Overkill Smurf, you could run a relay so that you can turn it on and off with a switch with the car on AND when the car is off they turn on when the doors open, a la courtesy lamps.

Again, going by the 01-03 wiring, which I hope has remained the same into the 04 model (it should, I don't see why it would be changed):
Here is where each pin on the relay would go:
30 - into the + wire for the neons
85 - door trigger + wire
86 - door trigger - wire
*as far as my limited electronics knowledge, it doesn't matter whether 85 gets the + and 86 the - or vice versa. As long as the circuit completes it will energize and switch the relay.*
87 - constant 12v power. I grabbed mine from the ignition harness behind where the key goes in the steering column
87a - splice into the + ACC wire at either the underdash fusebox or right at the 12v adapter. Put a switch inline so you can turn it off at will.
You can use a second relay for this part to get a clean 12v but I didn't and I'm running fine. It's been a while since I did this so if anyone has any corrections please post up.
