Try ground. Thats where most alt whine comes from. It may just be a fluke that it only appeared in one speaker. If that doesnt do it check the wiring for that speaker to see if it is run near any power wire or other wiring that may crosstransmit sound.

I have this exact same problem. I regrounded REALLY well, the power and RCA cables are separated, and I still can't figure out what is wrong. I finally just turned down the gain on my amp. I can still hear it, but not as much.

If you figure out what is causing your problem, let me know...

That also usually helps. Turning downthe gain. Unless you're going into an SPL comp. no need to be past halfway on the gain.

That is just masking the problem, not solving it.

I just feel as though thats a little too general. Gain settings depend entirely on factors like source and amp and even preference. There really isn't a way to say that gains should never be 3/4 of the way, or always 1/8 of the way etc, you tune the gain to your particular settings whereever they land, the land.

I do agree that turning down gains that are set rather high can lessen whine.

Another common cause of whine that is often overlooked is a breach in the RCA Cable. Plenty of people ruthlessly drag and pull RCA throughs openings and around screws and bolts. I'd check the cables themselves too.

This may make you laugh,
Is your power wire routed with the speaker wire going to the passenger speaker?
I have seen this situation come up in the past with some high current draw amplifiers and larger replacement speaker wire.
I also agree that a grounded speaker wire or terminal could also be a culprit to your problem.

I'd sub in another set of rca's and see if that will solve your problem - the few times i've run across a problem like that its been a damaged rca cable.

Angry Exact same problem....

[SIZE=7]I'v got the exact same problem, whining noise out of the front passanger speaker, even when the volume is low. I have a Apline 7894, standard speakers. I get this noise even when the volume is at 0.

Turn your air on and see if there is a whinning noise. Now turn it off and if it only little now then just ran a new wire. thats what i did.
