Any tips on getting HU installed?
I'm making an appointment to get my new HU installed after work today. Is there anything I should know or be careful of that Circuit City might try to pull on me? Think they'd let me watch if I asked? I already went through the box to see everything that it comes with so they can't not give me something and then claim it wasn't there, like the tried to do with the remote bass control that came with my amp

Do you have the wiring harness and dash kit?? If you do, I will put it in for you at the show this weekend. Pretty easy install! What kind of HU is it. They do make what they call "smart wires", which require NO soldering or crimping. Real simple.
-Request that they solder the connections not crimp them.
-Don't let them tell you that you need an antenna adapter like they did my wife.
-Make sure that they connect the power antenna or else you will get sorry FM and AM reception (Yellow/green wire on the vehicle's harness is the power antenna wire. They will need to hook a wire from the yellow/green to the blue wire on the head unit.)
-Check all the plastic panels for integrity so that they did not lose the clips and break the plastic ones.

This is an awesome DIY if you are so inclined to do it yourself. All you will need is a phillips head screwdriver, an 8mm socket and ratchet, a pair of crimpers (a stripper/crimper/etc combo works best) and approx 16 butt connectors.

circuit city solders connections I believe and does a better job overall. But the installers vary from store to store. I've heard horror stories about best buy.
Head unit wiring is simple, thats NOT what I'd be worried about. I'd be mroe inclined to go where I thought they would show more care and concern about my interior. Civics, being that you have to take apart the interior more than a lot of other cars to access the headunit are tougher than some cars to take apart without damaging things. The plastic and vinyl used in our cars is brittle and impressionable respectively. I would consider whos less likely to damage my interior when deciding. Any jackass can wire the deck, but will that jackass resist the temptation to pry off the trim pieces with a pry bar??

CC is better than Best Buy. Their selection is a lot better, too, altho for some reason they're not going to carry Alpine anymore in a few months, so maybe not.
