my remote wire is currently hooked up to a fuse under the steering column that only turns on when the car is on. i want to hook it up to a remote switch so i can turn it on/off when i want to. where can i find a good switch? does radio shack have any?

just go to Radio shack and tell them what you wanna do, they will be frighteningly happy to assist you. They will hump the s**t out of your leg on the way to the drawer where they keep switches. They will then proceed to tell you what switches are made of and what you can do with switches and who invented switches . . .
