Install tip for dynomatting

I have always hated the sealant that Honda uses on the moisture barrier on the door. Its far more sticky, stringy and just plain nasty as other manufacturers'. Today I tried something other than razor blades, plastic scrapers and solvent. Today I put a strip of duct tape over the gooey mess still on the door, used my roller to roll it on and then pulled it of taking with it the majority of the evil white messy sealant - similar to how your grandma waxes her lip. Just passing on a good tip that worked well for me.

Gear, I was probably rubbing my door with prep-sol for hours. LOL.

Mystic, because technically it interferes with the adhesion of the dynomat and I am unfortunately, a perfectionist.

Aircraft stripper works too. Least it did for me. Just be careful when applying it, as it'll mess your paint up if you get it elsewhere.

Technically it would add extra damping ability....not much, but it would.

Ok, but it still interferes slightly with adhesion. The dynomat doesn't stick to the stuff.

Do you mean what I did about the nasty sealant? If that was your question, its the start of this thread scroll up. If that wasn't your question I guess I missed the question.
