I guess as long as it sounds good. I'm really happy with the way it is right now, so I'll leave it. I turned down my low pass to 100Hz after finding a song where the bass got too boomy. Took me almost a year to get the eq settings where I liked em. But yeah, best way is just to turn each band up to full. Then start lowering it until it sounds good.
to set gain just turn your HU up to slightly below max volume...maybe 3/4 of max with no HU eq or filters on. Now put in a CD that has good clean music on it.
Turn the gain up untill you hear distortion, then back down again till its clean. gain is set.

I got mine from Parts Express, and they had an ecomomy grill in .7mm thickness ($3.25 each), and grill in 1.1mm thickness ($4.25 each). I got the thicker one since the other one was flimsy. What does Circuit City want for one of them?

Circuit City wants $12 for two. That's a lot more than Parts Express. What did they want for shipping?

Lol, or you can turn it up to whatever volume you want to be maximum. If you choose halfway and then adjust it, that's the highest you can turn the volume without distorting.

man i wish i had grills. when i had my kicker comp cvr's, i was carrying neon tubes in the trunk and i guess i didnt secure them right and one of the tubes was leaning on the sub. i didnt realize it so i would blast the subs. when i went to take the neons out, the neon was straight through the sub.
