I usually never ask about many electric mods bc im an installer to some degree but here we go. I got Delphi 50000 unit and I have an Alpine CDE-7870 which is pretty old. I only have one set of preouts in teh back and am wondering how to hook up the Delphi XM unit directly so I dont have to use the ghetto FM mod! Somone please let me know.
Thanks,
Eddie

You would need an auxilary input into your head unit. I don't believe the CDE-7870 has one. Unfortunatly you may have to do FM modulation.
Edit: I found this. I don't know exactly what it does but it may be of some help.

Because your head unit starts with CDE I don't believe that there is any alternative. With a alpine head unit that starts with CDA there is an adaptor for the AI-net plug that is a set of rca inputs. It costs about $25. Your deck does not have the Ai-net technology so you are stuck with the FM Modulator.
