Alping 9835 is soo nice...
My friend has it. The display is black and white, but it looks sick. Plus the amp is really powerful. Go for this one, or get the 9833 which is colored.

Stay away from Sony? I used to stay away from sony car products until they came out with the TFT display on the CDX-M9905 or 9900. Sick a$$ decks!! Trust! The alpine 9835 is sh^t next to the sony!!!!

Rep Power: 293 Pioneer Premier DEH-P8MP - it's got all you ask for except maybe the crossover, not sure. And it's got preprogrammed EQs with an ability for custom. I love it; got it a few weeks ago and I get comments on it and it's functional as hell. I paid 449 I think. IMO worth every penny.

Rep Power: 297 the sony IS way better than the alpine. ya, alpine USED to be this shiat. but look at the display on the sony. hands down Sony wins. can you watch movies on the alpine? hook up a ps2 to the alpine? I think not. Maybe it has 60 watts instead of 52, maybe has some things that the sony doesn't - but sony has things that it doesn't. Also, the stuff that the alpine does have and sony doesn't - doesn't make up for the sickness of the sony. and think about it, its SONY! everyone knocks them - and sure they haven't maee the best CAR audio products in the past, but its still sony, they know what they're doing.
So don't call me a noob because you're close minded and haven't checked out the sony deck yet.

Rep Power: 311 Dude, with all due respect, the only reason Sony decks are so asthetically pleasing is to cover up the ridiculous build quality. And the only reason they make it so easy to hook up a PS2 is to distract you from the shitty sound that is produced. If you are looking from a quality-first point of view on car audio, the last things we care about on head units are how cool they look and how much bonus crap we can hook up to them. I'm not saying we dont' like nice looking HUs and cool features, but we first make sure the sound and build quality is there. How cool looking is a Nak HU? They are designed for sound, not to make you pop a woody because you can play video on it. Personally, I'd rather love my Alpine for its quality for many years to come, than enjoy playing video games on my Sony for the year or so it lasts . . .

Rep Power: 297 no way! SQ is really good on my sony. Im not saying its the best or comp. status. But it is definitely really good. Better than a lot out there. My whole point is that, ya, sony used to be really bad w/car audio but they're comin up in the world. I wouldn't buy any of their subs/speakers. but the 9900 or 9905 are really good decks!
