Question about the Big 3

I currently have 1/0 running from the battery to my amp. I have 1/0 running from battery to chassis. Do I need to run 1/0 to the engine and alternator or can the guage be different (i.e. smaller wire)

I would say run 1/0 just to make things consistent

4 is plenty... the amperage capacity of a wire is inversely proportional to its length. 6 feet of 4 gauge can hndle a lot of power

Very true... 4 awg should work fine for you.

Like I said the only reason I say 4 awg is for installation purposes to make everything look consistent....

I forgot about that fact ludlum.

I think I will go with 4ga since having a huge mess of 1/0 all over the engine compartment could look a tad messy
