Alpine CDA-9835
Anybody have this head unit?
I want to get it but I want to know what it is like, and most importantly if it has an AUX in or not. I MUST MUST MUST have a way to hook up my DVD player to it. If not, what is the name of the aux adapter, preferably a model number and how much does it cost?

The adaptor you need is "KCA-121B" gives you one single Aux input (price: $15) or the "KCA-410C" gives you 2 Ai-NET inputs and 2 Aux inputs (price: $200) either one will work.
It does, but it only has one, and if you use the adapter it takes up the AI-Net port. However, most of the ai-net accesories have an ai-net input on them as well so you can daisy chain. I have the KCA-121B plugged into the ai-net port on my XM brain, and then the XM brain goes to the HU. I ran a wire from the KCA-121 to my dash for my input so I can plug my iPod in (my ipod doesnt have a dock connector, so I can't make use of the new Alpine iPod interface
)
Any other questions about the 9835? (I have it)

Display is visible in direct sunlight...button colors match the interior...EQ and crossover are excellent...Alpine's MP3 engine is fast and lets you browse songs without stopping playing of the current song....

Wait 2-3 more weeks and Alpine with have it's own interface for the iPod http://www.alpine-usa.com/products/l...h_kca-420i.htm
Pretty sweet, that's what I'm waiting for!
jDoG
jdog, that interface is already available according to my local shop, however it does not work with my generation of iPod.
Mega, my HU is flush mounted with the Metra kit that allows for a door under the HU. It's fine, no clearance issues.
