Details on changing battery
For those who put a larger battery in their vic, can you give me the specific details of what you had to do to get it in?
The more specific the better

I put in a standard sized (I believe it's group 74) Optima Red top. To install it, here's what I did.
1. Remove old battery and battery cover.
2. Unscrewed the stock tie down almost all the way out (had to unscrew all the way on one side to remove stock attery).
3. Placed Optima in stock battery tray (not using the cheapy battery cover).
4. Put stock tiedown back in place and began tightening the wing nut/screw that was removed completely to take out stock battery.
5. Alternated tightening both sides of tie down until hand tight.
6. Cinched the screws down snug with tools.
7. Connected ground then positive back to battery.
8. Enjoyed much improved battery.

For those interested, here is how it looks...
The battery, an Exide Extreme Cycle Duty BCI# 34/78 Part# 34XCD

Phoenix Gold 140 amp circuit breaker mounted on the side of my air box with velcro

Battery and circuit breaker in the same pic along with the rest of my engine

2 comments. First, it would have been cooler to use two different colors of wire loom so you can tell positive from negitive. Second , the glue on the velcro backing will probably deteriorate with the heat of the engine compartment so you may want to think of another way to fasten it.
Of course take this coment with a grain of salt since I haven't upgraded my wiring yet. Also thanks to your post I now have in my head of using two different colored wire loom
I was just going to use straight black for both but yours looked cool so I have to do colored loom now

mine's bigger than yours =P

of course mine required modification of the tie down, chopping out a piece of metal, and rerouting some stock wires over to one side, so it was kind of a pain in the ***

The glue on the velcro shouldnt come off, this stuff is like super industrial. It's not conventional velcro, it appears to be some new kind of velcro that holds really good and has super duper glue on the back
I still haven't touched any of the other wiring, all my grounds are stock and my alternator to battery wire is obviously still stock. I have considered doing them I just think the results may be questionable

I want the reserve capacity so I can compete with my car off in order to follow the dB drag rules. The stock battery is so tiny that after the first burp there is not enough juice left to bring up the numbers. Also, this battery is deep cycle so I can kill it and charge it a lot more before it starts to break down.
This particular battery is designed for audio systems and heavy electrical loads so it should improve performance in general

Actually it's 180 but who's keeping track?
I'm sure Ludlam's cost a pretty penny as well, just because of the sheer size alone

Y'all think I should fix that wire that is running over my air intake to the circuit breaker?
I'm thinkin I should make it a bit longer so I can take it under the intake and make it a bit cleaner
