Which wire is the remote wire?

OK, I am going to hook up my amp to my factory cd player in my I have a 2001 Civic EX Coupe until I get a new cd player. But where is the remote wire hooked up to? I have asked before and all I have heard is test all the wires when the car starts up and the one that changes voltage is the right one. But I have no clue on how to do that and that would take forever there are so may wires. Surely someone knows which wire it is. Like what color is it, does it have a stripe, and where is it (I am assuming underneath the steering wheel).
So can someone please make my life easy and just tell me what color the wire under the steering wheel is that I need to connect to the remote wire?
I have a 2001 Civic EX Coupe.
Thanks

Blue is usually remote (with aftermarket decks, can vary with stock)

There should (theoretically) be a remote wire going to your power antenna booster which is under the C pillar on the passenger side.

I am not sure what to look for there, but try and find the remote and tap it from there so you don't have to run a wire from the deck

I have hooked mine up to a black and yellow wire under the steering wheel towards the center. It works fine and will only work when the key is in the second ignition postion. The rear defroster works as a switch to turn the system on and off (dam 50 foot law in TN).

Is that a remote turn on wire though or merely a switched 12v wire?

I looked on that piece of plastic that you remove to get to under the steering wheel and there was a wire called Radio/acc. So how do I find out which wire that one is? It just had numbers on it it didnt say colors on it.
So does anyone know which one that is?
Thanks

The antenna wire is a bad choice....it only powers on when you have the radio on, it wont work for the cd player. That means no amp power with a CD.

I don't get it, the power wire connects to the battery. Why does it need another 12v source?

Switched 12v is fine, it's what I used in my house system. Just run one from the battery, tap the battery wire from the deck, whatever, and put a switch on it.

The power wire that connects to the battery is constantly hot, it always has power to it. If that were the only line, the amplifier would be on 24/7 draining your battery hardcore. The remote wire is just a 12v signal that tells the amplifier to turn on. Typically, it turns on when you put the key in the car, or when you turn your HU on.

Oo, so the remote wire isn't constantly supplying power.
