SoundStream Reference 604 question
I've had this amp for 3 years now with absoutely no problems at all, but today I tried to wire my 2 Kicker Comps in parallel just to see if I could get a little extra punch out of em. Well I dissconnected everything and wired the 2 single voice coil subs in parallel. After I realized that it sounded like ***, I switched it back to the way I thought I had it before. After I had it thumpin again, I started to smell a very weird burning plastic stank. I shut off the HU and went back to the trunk, moved my box and lifted the amp only to see a little puff of smoke come out of the bottom
So now I'm FLIPPIN out! I take it all apart again and see that the two 30 amp fuses are blown. After I replaced the fuses everything seemed fine. Then when I was driving home from my friends house afterward, I noticed that my shizz doesn't hit quite as hard without turning the sub output up more.
Did I royally fvck something up??? I'm going to look at it again tomorrow after work to see if a switch is in the wrong position or what, I just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. I'm kinda worried right now because I really don't have the money to but another one at the moment. I really hope everything will be ok!
Thanks guys!!

Yeah....I took everything apart today after some testing and I determined that it was either channels 1 & 2, or the left sub, or both.....well its BOTH!
I have 2 burned resistors and hopefully that's where it ends! The sub was weird tho. When I took it out of the box, I noticed that the cone had ZERO travel. I pushed pretty hard on the cone and it popped out.(what did I have to lose at this point, right?) I don't remember ever seeing a sub that just "locked up" like that.
I think what happened was that the sub couldn't handle the current comming out of the amp, burned up the voice coil, and then sent the current back into the amp, effectively frying the resistors, and possibly more. I don't know what to do. I'm gonna have a friend of a friend look at it and he may be able to fix it. I emailed SoundStream, but who knows how much they'll charge me just to look at it!
At least I still have 2 channels and 1 sub to hold me over until I can afford new ****.
