don't call me sir,,,,i work for a living,,,,,,,,,liquifies you say? could you explain that a little more for me. what actually happens? would the whole vehicle implode like a TV screen would when you smash it?,,,,I never really understood science and would like to know what exactly would happen,,,,thanks
its all relative
i sat in that truck and it did a 169.3..im still here
the loudest truck i have been in has 20 fifteens in the extended cab(not a walk thru or cut thru..but a wall) with 20 amps for the woofers, and 3 comp sets in each door with 6 amps for those. it felt louder than 169...honstely made me sick...and he only listens to speed metal. the rockford hummer is the same way...just out of control.
yup thats nate....hes the big guy in the red, white and blue next to the car.
edit: we built that truck right next to scott owens who is responsible for the world record holding pioneer F250. watching that guy work was awe inspiring..from metal honeycomb for the box to shaving the rear doors shut to air actuated locks for that pioneer truck...hes one of the best..check out Edge Audio for his work.. he also has done the Orion hummer H2 the Audiobahn wagon with the four 18s, the last two mb quart mercedes...the 2003 ces show he had 7 cars there.

I'm not a newbie to car audio so when I say burped I mean burped not bumping. The box was designed by an ex co-worker who competed in IASCA a while back and he helped me setup my car and that was the highest we got it to hit using one of the meters at Alpine(when I worked there).
So please dont treat me like I dont know what Im talking about.
Of course I dont care for SPL anymore so hopefully I'll be competing next year in SQL. (Im reduing everything as we speak)
^aw i wasnt trying to diss you Alpine. I just hate that saying "yeah i burped my car.." it just sounds retarded. Thats like when this guy in the taco bell drive through heard my system and asked "What do you got in the bag?"
to which i replied: ".....two tacos and a crunchy gordida?"

As soon as I get home I will try to post a pic I took of the meter showing 141 db. hehhehehe
gotcha, thanks for clarifing that for me,,,,,,,,,I new a guy who owned a shop, he had 3 earthquake magna 12's and 3 radiator subs in a custom box. He had them running off one amp, think it was the DH2?, and 2 batterys. he put out around 156dB if I recall, and when i sat in the 4 runner, I thought my ear drums were going to explode, and he only had it up a little less than half, I was screaming at him, and he could not hear me, too bad someone stole his 4 runner, and stripped everything out of it.

I burp around 50hz.
My box is tuned to 33 hz but I found I get a higher number up around 50 or so
On another note, the db drag website is down right now

if you know what volume is loudest (or what you wanna play for that round) and what freq is loudest...
no reason playing the entire 30 seconds if you know volume 27 @ 44hz is the loudest your car will play without blowing anything up....its all in testing...if you dont know youll be up there the whole 30 seconds changing tracks to find whats loudest..next time...it will get shorter cause you will knwo what track is loudest..

each about 1 second or as little as possible. no point in constantly playing your system as it will just kill your battery before your score goes up, and you risk destroying equipment. If you really want to try different things, try 3 different tracks in one run, not every single one, because you will never gain if you do.

nice!
