switching polarity on a diode won't kill it, it just won't turn on until polarity is corrected. the only way to kill a diode is having too much current go through it (which can only happen when polarity is correct)

ive had voltage problems in my vehicle leading to dying on teh road and difficult starting. I eventually traced it back to the capacitor., once I removed that thing and charged the battery again, i had no problems, ever.

I know that Ludlamtheory bought a red top back in the day, one year later , it couldnt hold a charge. That doesnt seem like your problem, But I might try dropping him a line asking for his exact syptoms.

have you tried removing the cap out of the electrical line? It being there, even with all the accessories off, will still do its thing if it is part of the problem!

BTW< thanks for hte shiva, I cant wait to have them hooked up to the ht! and I wish you luck with this issue, I hope to see you down south august... was it 7th, 8th?

I am in the process of resetting the ECU. One thing that I can't remember is that when i did re-electrical taping of the wires under the hood (including disconecting the battery) if I had done it before or after the problem started to occur...I may have reset the ECU, and then sat ther for an hour reving my engine as I was tuning...which may have thrown everything out of wack. I am hoping by resetting my ECU that I can get it to idle better...otherwise I may have to take it to the dealer

...the cap has always been a b!tch...it was the most difficult thing for me to install and it will be a pain to take out.

WR, i hope the Shiva work out for you...I think it is an awesome HT sub...and one alone is LOUD....it also seems to blend in better with my satelites then the lil 6" ported sub that came with my system.
The contest is on the 7th of August. I have no idea how to sign up or anything like that. I will prolly call the number next week to see how to get signed up and let people interested know.

most local shows are show up and pay the fee. if this is a super organized event, like iasca at sears point, then yeha, prereg is neccesary. hopefully itll be a backyard fun meet thats hodge podged together, those always go more smoothly despite less planning, for some reason (at least here!)

I cant wait fopr HT, the idea of stereophonic shiva just tickles my fancy

Yeah the contest seems to be more on the disorganized side...which sounds like it may be good.

In regards to my car problem, I reset the ECU and have not had a problem since...so hopefully it will be good

I disconnected the battery for about 20 minutes...I came back and reconnected it, then I let the car idle for 15 minutes. I shut the car off and then turned in back on and drove to work after that.

Is your air filter clean? Maybe its just so dirty that when the car isnt moving, its having trouble sucking in air.

Eh just a thought =o)

Yeah intake system plays a big part. Maybe your IAT sensor in the airbox is dirty, worn, or loose?
