To replace my rears of not?

I was wondering if I should replace my rear 6x9's or not. Right now the plan is to have CDT Audio CL-61A components up front and keep the rears stock. I was going to buy a good amp for the components and run the rears off deck power. Good idea?

The other way would be to just get some new rears (something cheap like Pioneer 3-ways or something around $75) and run them off deck power. I think the rears are just fill speakers so does it really pay to get new ones. I'm sure anything I buy would be better than stock but will I ever heard the difference or will the people sitting in the back be the only ones to hear the difference?

The sound stage is better when faded to the front a little. The back speakers don't sound good anyways from the front. Just get some cheap ones and fade to the front enough so that you can barely hear the rears. Sounds much better imo.

Agreed .... IMO, get the fronts and the amp. Then decide about the rears. Then you might be able to save yourself some cash. .....

Yeah - that's what I was thinking. I was fading to the front to move the sound stage up and was recommended to do that by many people. The savings don't matter to me much. If I replace them for about $75 it's not putting a gigantic dent in my budget for my system, but if I don't really need them I'll take the $75 and use it elsewhere!

I like running the rear fill off my deck. It usually works out best for me to use a 2 channel for the comps up front and just give the rears enough power to operate. I will say this, havne't heard it in a civic yet, but no having no rear speakers at all does usually bother me.

if you are getting components for the front...just disconnect the rear speakers.
